A bit slack on the reporting side of things, plenty of things still going on, Im testing loading up new images on Volatile Mobile, building a new Volatile website and have been having discussions with another well known Aussie film maker.
The BMX comp went well in almost 40 degree weather at the Flagstaff Park the old mixing it with the new with the likes of Rudd and Stans ripping the park alongside the youngsters, Ill post up a copy of the results when i find them! Good work to Mission Australia and Jo and 'P' (a kickboxing chick and a pregnant woman) for running and event for BMX and skaters. Everyone should come down and support their events.
The skaters ripped the 9 foot bowl with some killer father son/ father daughter combo's ruling the day.
Still been doing some work on the DVD release for Volume 2 - January 2008(episodes 5 - 8) of SIdetracked getting some extra bonus features sorted. Sidetracked is out of DVD and copies are instore NOW at a heap of local and interstate bike stores, im putting a list together of all the stockists so you can find your closest copy and will post it up soon.
Stunt Lips and Uncle Salty Productions are rumoured to be putting on a Christmas Office Party, you gotta beg, borrow or steal to get an invite to that one!
New [R]evolution out with the Kovarik footplanting the cover.
November 28 2007
BMX and Skate Park competition at Flagstaff Skate Park this Saturday Dec 1. Its only $1 to enter, run by Mission Australia, and is one of the few things to happen for the BMXers in SA. Head down and show your support.
DVD's from the first four episodes of SIDETRACKED will start appearing in stores this weekend. If you want to be the first to grab a copy Trak at Norwood, Jt Cycles Adelaide, Bicycle Express and Standish at Marion will have stock this FRIDAY!
November 19 2007
The final episode in the first series of SIdetracked airs this Friday Nite 8.30pm est. Marshy and Grant Allen...both clips are well over 10 years in the making...you wont see this much action packed into 25 minutes this side of Mars!
Pretty much completed the DVD aswell, due for release at the start of December, order your copy from your local bike shop. I think its about 2 minutes short of 2 hours of action including all of the first four episodes + bonus and hidden sections only available on the DVD, and it should be retailing for $39.95.

November 14 2007
Two more weeks to go in the first series of SIDETRACKED. Westy this week alongside Willunga and a cool Sydney Street section filmed and edited by Oliver Smith.
Nearly finished the DVD on the series, the DVD will be split into the first four and last four episodes, with bonus features. Over 100 mins of action and it should be hitting shops December 1, ONLY available through bike shops, ask your local store to order you a copy.
The Two Timers Dirt Comp at Eagle has been canned, but we are still able to run just a riders jam - no prizes, no ammenities, no first aid. Riders interested in attending will be able to get a vehicle pass into the park if they email me with their details, I will need to confirm numbers before we can proceed with the jam, so if you are keen, please contact me by November 28. More info posted as it happens.

November 7 2007
Well done to Will Rischbieth, taking out the first round of the National DH series at Eagle Quarry on the weekend. This weekend is the SA State Championship at Eagle Quarry.

October 31 2007
The guys and girls from Mission Australia are running another BMX and Skate competition at Seaford Skate Park this Saturday, rego from 12pm competition starts at 2pm. Junior and open categories, I think its only $1 to enter.
1st round of the National Championships at Eagle Quarry this weekend, Fri, Sat and Sunday.
Ive been putting the final touches to the last two episodes for Sidetracked, saving the best till last, with Marshy and Grant Allen filling the last episode for Series One with footage dating back from 1990! and everything in between.

October 26 2007
Flat out as usual, did the last bit of filming with Westy the other day and edited the very BEST couple of minutes in the whole series to go at the end of his section...Episode 7. The series finishes off with two incredible stories following just a few moments in time with Aussie's first real 'Freeride' export Grant Allen, and quite possibly one of Australia's most gifted all round riders Steve Marsh...undefeated in trials for 5 years!
The first round of the National DH series is on in Adelaide next weekend at Eagle with XC, DH and Trials. Trials is Saturday at Eagle and Sunday down at Port Elliot - definately worth a look at the best trials location in Aus.

Caught up with Ryan Norton on the weekend for the final days shooting for his segment in Episode 6 of Sidetracked, taking his new super motard out for a quick whip, then hitting a local Adelaide spot prime for shredding. Finishing editing sections for Dean and Rohan Mogridge that are absolute GOLD, while stories on Marshy and Grant Allen will just blow viewers away.
Al and the guys hit city after trying flip whips and 3flips at Eagle. December 2 will see another jump comp here in SA at Eagle more news as it happens.
Check out a heap of new clips from episodes 4, 5 and 6 in SIDETRACKED.
(Left) Rohan Mogridge front flipping in the late '90's at Willunga.
October 9 2007
Currently editing stories from the City Dirt Park and Willunga 07 Downhill, alongside Grant Allen, Marshy and Dean Mogridge and Westy, with heaps of never before seen vision...a good nights sleep will come one day!
Also pretty excited about getting Terrafirma on board to support soundtracks for the series aswell, with some killer tracks and beats by Simplex. Plus some international interest might see these guys getting seen by more than our Aussie audience.
THIS WEEK ON SIDETRACKED - 7.30pm (est.) FUEL TV - Downhiller Craig Yates, Trials with Joe Brewer, Andrew Dickey and Ben Benny and freeriding with Chris, Alan and DJ.
(thats 7pm if you live in Adelaide.)
October 8 2007
Caught up with Ryan Norton over the weekend, but unfortunately due to some parts detatching from the bike, this led to not a lot of new action recorded.
Brenton from Trail Solutions has been working the jumps at Eagle with Chucky, Al, Ferg and crew and they had a session there on Sunday, and from all reports its KILLA. Now the construction has started I can finish confirming the re-run of the Two Timers jam on December 2.

Caught up with Grant Allen this morning for a little more background on his feature in the last few episodes of Sidetracked.

I think Trail Solutions are starting work on rebuilding the last straight at Eagle jumps this week, there will be some organised working bees at the site soon to help finish off and ride in the jumps. At this stage I have still booked the venue for December 2 to re-run the Two Timers comp.

September 29 2007
Last round of the Inside Line Dh series at Mt Gambier this weekend, unfortunately I wont be able to make it.
FIRST EPISODE OF SIDETRACKED airs next Friday Oct 5th at 7.30pm on FUEL TV.
Recently finished editing a section on Rohan Mogridge that you will be able to see in Episode 5, its KILLER - over a decade of riding, and barely squeezed half of the best bits into 9 minutes of variety from front flips to 80 foot gaps to kickboxing.

Pretty much completed episode three on Sidetracked with stories on the Giant SA riders, Street riding with Jack Foster and Louis Maddiford and an interview with the producer of Super 8 Illusionary Lines, Tony Butler, incorporating some of Tony's vision from the Worlds and also filming with riders like Kovarik, Pokoj, Hill and more.
Jumping/ Freeride mission tomorrow. Hackham dirt jumps is the destination, Alan has been building up the jumps and the plan is to jump morning/ early arvo, then head off maybe to Sellicks or some other similar destination to ride and film. Riders welcome, bring a shovel.
September 10 2007
Did a little more filming with Dean Mogridge on his Moto on Saturday before heading out to the BMX comp at Seaford Skate Park. I will post up the individual results in the next day or so. Jason Brinkworth took out the advanced category ahead of Andrew Spall, then Zak Baker with Wayne Wall rounding out the top 4. Phil Gangell took out Intermediate, with Scott Andrews ripping it in the U/14's and Jake Dowsett taking out U/12's.
Also caught up with Louis at the Coro Dirt jumps which are running nicely.
Looking to organise a jumping/ freeride mission next Sunday for a section on Sidetracked, down South and will post some details as it happens.
There will be more digging at the city to keep trying to fix up the jumps when we get more rain.

A bit of a delay on the news that we had a dig at the City track on Saturday and re-shaped the last jump on the right hand set. After a few test rides it looks like it might work, but we will ride it for a few weeks, then possibly look at building the 1st and second jumps a bit bigger too!
Big thanks to all the guys who came out and helped dig, and thanks to the guys at Red Bull for the wiings.
Ive pretty much completed the first two episodes of Sidetracked for Fuel TV, new updates on the show are nearly ready to be loaded onto the site.
We had a few entries into the 13 year competition and I will be deciding the winner/ winners this weekend, nice work to those who entered.

Without enough on my plate already, the City Council organised machinery for some re-working of the city track, it was a great chance to get some dirt moved, so we went fairly hard and demolished the last jump of the right set and moved it closer, dug some water pits for winter and moved a heap of excess dirt from the sides of the left set.
WORKING BEE AT THE TRACK THIS SATURDAY ARVO FROM 3pm. We cant use hoses, so please bring a watering can or bucket. With a few guys we will get the new right set working and have a bit of a ride on a nice soft BIG jump.
Dont forget your entries for the 13 Years competition.
Please spread the word about Saturday.

Steve Marsh was the latest rider on the interview list, speaking to him about his life on and off the bike...in between editing the show. Check out a sample from the show with national mountainbike photographer Steve the Pirate.
I was also one of the very few to check out the new SKUFF TV site, it looks KILLER!!! They are still tweaking areas but it is soo close i can smell the skuff from here! There will be info up hopefully next week with a lot more detail on Sidetracked, Skuff TV and the Volatile Mobile Channel.
Its been a while since I've put many new video clips up, but a heap more will be available soon here, and on Skuff TV, not to mention the October release on FUEL TV.

All weekend on the computer missing out on the great SA weather is not really what I wanted to be doing, but putting some of the finishing touches on the first few episodes of Sidetracked produced some worthy content for the show.
Caught up with Tony Butler producer of Super 8 Illusionary Lines over the weekend for a quick interview, capturing some of his thoughts on travelling the world shooting with the top Aussies just before he heads over to the Worlds. Big thanks to Tony for adding some of his vision to the Sidetracked Series.
Still deciding which stories will go in each issue but so far we have coverage of the following:
07 MTBA Nats, Two Timers Dirt comp, Chromoly Crown Park and Dirt Comp, Trials from the Bicycling Aus Shows (Melbourne and Sydney), coverage of some of the SA State Downhill series, interviews and profiles with the likes of #2 National DH series racer Dave West, Downhill and Trials guru Steve Marsh, Freeriders Chris Soininen, Alan Hepburn, Darren Pokoj, Steve the Pirate - National MTB Photographer, Eagle Quarry Mountainbike Park, Street riding around Sydney and Adelaide, riding with the Mogridge Brothers, Chris Kovarik, Rennie, Hill, Norton, Rishbieth, Yates and much much more.

The crew are back in town with Louis, Chris and Al back in Adelaide. Caught up with Jack and Louis on Saturday in the city and then tagged along with the Mogs out to Mark Fay's new downhill at Sellicks. Killer track - 'NO CHAIN NEEDED' - it is gravity the whole way down with nice berms, jumps, off camber, rocks...killer!

Willunga DH on the weekend taken out again by Dave West, making it his 4th win for the series and I would say would have to put him out of reach of any other rider to take out the series! Nice one Westy! Even though it rained and was cold and windy through the day, the sun also came out and made for a good days riding, and probably one of the best Willunga events on record. Well done to everyone involved for putting on a great event.
Check out the clip of Dave vs Ryan in the Willunga section.
Chris and Al sent across a couple more snaps, they should be back in little ol Adelaide within the next week.
I forgot to mention last week that local boy Louis Maddiford got the cover shot on [R]evo, nice work Louis and nice work to the Pirate...without him I dont think you would see many pics of the SA crew in the mags! Props to the Pirate!

Ive loaded up a short clip from 'Ruthless', back from 2001.
Check out the design comp and bands wanted in the events section.
For those of you with PODMO on your phones (in SA) there are 5 new movies on Volatile Mobile and as soon as I get a spare five minutes, we will start running some competitions through the platform, with Fox providing a pair of new Racing Goggles. More new on that soon.
Chris, Alan and crew headed out to Bearclaws Slopestyle comp at Mt Washington, and they got to ride in the practice session with all the big guns. Hooking up with the Pro's in a 5 star lodge then out for a couple of refreshing beverages after the main event.
Willunga Hill DH this weekend, first time in many years. Well done to Yates, West, TB and crew who have put in the hard yards on the hill to find the fastest lines I think we have seen for many, many races. Nice one fellas! I will be filming a section on the race for the new MTB series SIDETRACKED on FUEL TV at the race, so hold it on if you see me on the hill.
August 7 2007
Caught up with Ryan Norton on the weekend and got a few nice shots...when the rain went away. I also popped up to Willunga Hill and did a quick pre race interview with Craig Yates and Dave West as they bunted some of the track prior to next weekends race.

Congrats to the local boy Chris Soininen, making it through to the final days riding in the Slopestyle Event at Crankworx/ Whistler. Watching the telecast on Rip TV on Sunday, the course looked MASSIVE, with only a handful of riders actually busting the big moves...with a few guys busting themselves in the process. Nice work Chris!
Stay tuned for your chance to make it onto the new Volatile Visions® series Sidetracked on Fuel TV, with filming at some local hotspots - open to all who are keen. I'll be organising a day at Kangarilla and also a day on the train runs at Belair, more news as it happens...
Did a bit of filming with Fergus Milne on Saturday and got a few killer shots.

July 27 2007
Checking out the results for Crankworx, it looks like Chris went really well finishing just behind Pokoj, with Alan just a few points behind. Hopefully this means they are through to the next round.
Im stoked that Volatile Visions® can finally announce a new eight episode Mountainbike Series on Fuel TV, Sidetracked. It has taken many, many months but we have finally got it sorted, so stay tuned for more Aussie mountainbike action for your viewing pleasure. Aimed to hit the widescreen October 2007. Stay tuned for more news and your chance to get your ugly mugs on television.
July 26 2007
Chris, Alan and the rest of the world of Freeriding is all looking at Crankworx at the moment, Chris and Al are in the qualifyers TODAY! Apparently its been raining over there, and reports on the course set up have not exactly been glowing...but man, I wish I was there! (Next year!)
I've also got some other good news Im going to sit on for a few days.
Below are a few photos Al sent over from Whistler.
July 23 2007
Caught up with Jack Foster again on the weekend and found a few more street spots, also had a brief dig at the City Dirt Park again. DVD's available for $20 + still have a few beanies and caps left too, at this stage they are only available direct through the website. Ive loaded in some old Willunga DH vision and am trying to find time to put a quick edit together for the site.
Check out the events page for info on a design competition to celebrate Volatile Visions® 13 years in the game. Get your art on a t-shirt, web, mobile or television platform.

Ol' man Dean Mogridge celebrated his 30th birthday on the weekend with a couple of beers and a few well placed heaters, his jumps were under water, so no-one hurt themselves...at least in the early part of the night. The crew from a city based store got the old beer bikes out for a run around town dressed in old suits to celebrate Filthy Phil's 21st, and Pottsy's 40th...but Pottsy had to work, I might try and organise another dig in at the city track for later in the week/ weekend, get in contact if you are keen to lend a hand.
July 12 2007
Caught up with the guys from the Adelaide City Council again yesterday and it looks good to get some machine driven support to fix sections of the advanced park. It might not happen till after winter, but things are looking good for a new re-vamp at the site. They wont really be creating anything new, just fixing the drainage and moving a little dirt, but if you have some ideas about what the council could do to improve the site, please email me and I will forward it on, any info would need to be provided by next Tuesday 17th July.
July 9 2007
Bennetts downhill in the mud, with a controversial descision to 'modify' the track during the course of racing...I wont put my foot in it by saying any more...
Westy takes another win and is looking the goods for the series, but I reckon props have to go to an unknown name to most Reece Herd - a top bloke I met a few years ago in Alice Springs, took out hardtail by about 12 seconds, then took another 6 or so seconds off his time to take out Expert class (on his hardtail) ahead of the duallies! I think his time was only few seconds behind the elite top 5! Nice work Reece - running the factory Iron Maiden kit.
Club Officianado Nick Rudski aka Team Flannie Pro Rider, heads off to Melbourne, big thanks for his many years of hard work - the club simply wouldn't be where it is today without his input. It is definately time for more riders in the club to put their hands up and help continue to support the progression of the club. Best of luck Nick. Contact www.ilmtb.com and volunteer just a little of your time and racing will continue at the level it is currently at - THE BEST IN AUS!!!
The local Volatile DVD 'Unfinished Business' is available ONLY direct from Volatile Visions® $25 posted to your door. Email me to place an order while I work on a shopping cart for the site. Thanks to all who purchased a copy on the weekend.
Well done again to Inside Line for another good race amidst difficult conditions. Willunga next...I'll try post up an old Willunga clip for all the people who havent heard of it in the next week or two.

July 5 2007
After a few late nights the newest Volatile Visions® DVD is done. Its titled "Unfinished Business 0.0". It contains little stories and interviews covering a heap of recent SA events, with plenty of good coverage of the locals!
I will have a few copies with me out at Bennetts downhill this weekend for $20. Over 45 minutes, + bonus features.

New headwear. Its been a while but we finally got around to getting some new sample beanies and caps made. FInal colours and details yet to be confirmed, but if you need to keep your head warm with something volatile. Email Me.
I will have just a few beanies for sale this weekend at the race, so get in early for the first batch!
July 2 2007
Ended up having another small dig in at the City Track, thanks again to the crew lending a shovel, but I wouldnt go holding my breath thinking it will be rideable this side of winter.
The new DVD that still has no name is shaping up very nicely, completed edits include vision from the following:
Inside Line DH 07 Eagle, 07 Mt Torrens, 06 Fox Long, Breakaway 4X series round #1, Volatile Visions«® Chromoly Crown Skate Park and Dirt Park MTB comps, Volatile Visions® Two Timers Junior comp, Trial of Champions 03, a street session with Loius and Jack, the Volatile teaser plus some bonus footage. Over 40 minutes. Some copies will be available at the State DH race this weekend at Bennetts, for only 20 bucks, along with some assorted Volatile clothing that hasn't seen the light of day for a while. Two Timers T-shirts $10!!!
Copies will also be available to order through the Volatile website after this weekend. Email me for order info.
A record number of hits on the website last month, thanks for visiting! A big hello to visitors from Hungary, the UK, Germany and NZ, its great you're checking out what's happening down here!
June 30 2007
NEW VOLATILE DVD. If all goes according to plan, I will release a SA content based DVD at next weekends Downhil Race out at Bennetts. At most it will retail for $20 and will include an assortment of vision from the 06 and 07 State DH series, the MTB Chromoly Crown Skate Park and Dirt Park Comp, Two Timers Jump Comp, some trials and a few other clips from recent shoots and interviews with some of the states best riders. The DVD is not aimed at setting the world on fire, and is more aimed at the riders and the local community here in SA, but definately has some great vision and stories.
Inside Line State Round #4 at Bennetts next weekend. I've heard the club has a new transport trailer that works very well and guys have been test riding the new Eagle DH track, and still with a few minor mods to come has been given the thumbs up by the elite riders.
Not much movement on the fixing of the dirt jumps at this stage, repair is likely to happen after winter, if the jumps shape up I have booked a tentative date of Dec 2 to re-run the Two Timers comp at Eagle, worst case it will re-run at either Hackham or the City Dirt Park.
June 25 2007
Big thanks to the guys who came out to the City Track yesterday, we ended up getting a little more drainage sorted, hopefully with a bit more work before the rains come again, we will be able to raise some of the runs and then get started on actually re-building some of the jumps.
June 20 2007
WORKING BEE AT THE CITY TRACK - this Sunday June 24. 3pm onwards. Thanks to the guys and gals at Red Bull who will help provide some energy for those helping out.
Any and all assistance welcome to get a bit of drainage and start giving the jumps a bit of a re-vamp. June 19 2007
Just finished a quick edit of just a fraction of the footage from the weekend with Westy, Yates and Will. SA GIANTS. Well worth a look for about an hour on the edit suite! All the best for Will who is about to head of to the World's to become the World Junior DH Champ. ( No pressure)
Good luck to all the SA crew travelling to Whistler. Chris, Alan and DJ left yesterday, Loius and Adam went last week< Wildman's back over along with Flanders and a heap of SA crew. Its going to be noisy when the SA crew hit the Slopestyle event at Crankworx!
A tentative booking for Dec 2 for the Two Timers re-run at Eagle Quarry. More news as it happens.

Had a wicked days filming yesterday with Will, Westy and Yates, the weather held out and we scored some great new vision. Will try and have a small sample clip loaded up in the next few days.
On a SHIT note - keep your ears and eyes to the ground, some prick stole an excavator, kanga and trailer from Eagle Quarry last night - (Saturday eve). There is a reward for any info leading to the recovery of this equipment. I think its about as shit as it gets, because this would have to have been someone from the MTB community to even know this gear was there.
I loaded up a short video from Mt Torrens DH the other day - check out the Mt T link or videos.
Caught up with Chis and Alan at Hackham on Sunday with the Mogridge brothers. Chris and Al are killing it!
They head off to Whistler in the next few weeks and will represent the Aussies at Crankworx, Loius and Wildman and a heap of SA riders are also going to spend our cold winter on Whistlers sunny slopes. Good luck to all the SA crew!
The following day another journey down south with Westy, Will , Ferg and Frenchy had a bit of fun and checked out some fine sculptured dirt, finished up at the Mogs for a bit of a dig in the back yard.

Alan Hepburn flipping the first at his jumps at Hackham. BW (Before Whistler)
June 8 2007
I had to shut the website down whlie I had to sort through a few gliches. More changes to come, should be some new video's up soon and taking a few of the old ones down. Caught up with Alan, Chris and Dj before they head OS to Whistler, but conditions werent the best. Got some good interviews and a couple of ripper shots.
Well done to Dave West on the weekend, the fastest rider down the mountain of Mt Torrens, with Jack Cavanagh and Frenchy (nice work lads) also making it onto the podium alongside the boys in blue Yates and Rischbieth. Ryan Norton unfortunately didn't qualify due to a mechanical failure - he'll be on it at Bennetts!
May 28 2007
I managed to load up the start of the new front page the other day, before I encountered program problems. Things are looking good on the broadcast front with new projects running through final testing. More news as it happens.
Dont forget to check out the new Volatile Mobile Channel - FREE to viewers in Adelaide. Click on the link to go straight to PODMO's registration page.
May 24 2007
Caught up with Rishi, Trigger, TB and crew on Sunday at Crafers and captured a bit more action and a few interviews, then headed to Will's place for a bit of a dig session on his dirt jumps. Unfortunately some issues with my computer means I cant load any new video's up just yet, but am working on it and should be able to push out some vision from Fox Long and from last weekends riding soon.
I can see plenty more views of the clips I have loaded up on my site - so thanks to everyone for visiting and checking out the latest action...you aint seen nothin yet!
May 20 2007
Results are up on the Events page from the Discovery Sk8/ BMX comp at Seaford Skate Park. Well done to the crew at Mission Australia for putting on a great event for the kids, and well done to all the little rippers out there laying down an impressive bag of tricks.
May 11 2007
It is with much regret I have had to postpone the Two Timers MTB Jump comp till later in the year.
The jumps have been modified and unfortunately will not be ready to a safe and satisfactory level in time for me to run the competition.
The good news is we will work on them with Alan and crew over winter and re-run the event, and it will be the best set of jumps anywhere in Aus. The prizes will run over into the next competition - the NS Bikes frame will be drawn on completion of the comp.
If the supporters out there could purchase a Two Timers t-shirt for only $20 that would be really nice.May 3 2007
