CITY DIRT PARK - KARRANGGA PARK

A few years between updates going by the last posted date!

Im running another event at the City Dirt Park on April 17th. A free come and try BMX day on the beginner and intermediate tracks, and a Dirt Jam on the new and improved Advanced jumps for MTB and BMX.

Just sorting through the final details with legals and insurance etc, but will post up some dedicated info soon.

A bit of a delay on the news that we had a dig at the City track on Saturday and re-shaped the last jump on the right hand set. After a few test rides it looks like it might work, but we will ride it for a few weeks, then possibly look at building the 1st and second jumps a bit bigger too!
Big thanks to all the guys who came out and helped dig, and thanks to the guys at Red Bull for the wiings.

The City Council organised machinery at the track today and moved a heap of dirt and moved the third jump on the right set closer. The dirt is still fairly moist, so if we get in quick with a working bee this Saturday arvo from 3pm, the jump will shape up nicely. Please bring a watering can or bucket - we can't use hoses any more.

The City Dirt jump park has been around for a few years now, and has held a number of big and small events. Volatile Visions® has been around since the very beginning of the project, and along with a few remaining riders like BMXer Dwayne Golding can remember when the few dirt parks around Adelaide would generally get smashed down, rather than built bigger.

Big thanks to Ray and the guys at the Adelaide City Council for building a facility that not only was the winner in the 2004 Be Active Recreation and Sport Awards, but has become a benchmark for council built jump facilities across the country.
