INSIDE LINE MTB CLUB STATE DOWNHILL SERIES - MT TORRENS
ROUND 3 SA STATE DH SERIES - 2nd & 3rd June 2007, Mt Torrens
(information taken from www.ilmtb.com)
Another great race and another great day out at Mt Torrens, with the down-hill gods clearing the clouds and providing us with a sunny morning, we were all set for a great day. Despite a couple of showers mid way through the race, the sun came out again and cleared the way for a perfect run home.
Thanks also to our new Fire Chief Tony Rosa for cranking up a couple of 44 half gallon drums with a warming fire and also to the track builders for a camp-fire un rivaled at the top. If you didn’t make the treck to the top, you missed a hot camp fire highly detailed and crafted with wooden seats and hot rocks, well done boys. You’ve set the precedent for next year. Also a big thanks to the track builders who worked tirelessly over the last month getting DazzleLand up to “race condition” a thanks from everyone.
A note touched on at the presentation, Phil Charlton has decided its time to hand some of his wisdom over to the up and coming volunteers on the use of ‘TIMY’ ( the timing gear). We will miss Phil as he heads for warmer weather, hopefully he will show his face at an occasional race meet. Also a big thankyou to all the start and finish volunteers, a tireless effort once again, thanks for all the times. (Competitors - dont forget to thank them as well).
Overall positions will be posted on the website when officiated, if you were there you will know who won what, if you missed it, well West’y pulled a first in Elite, must be the “mud” for specifics on who won what and which family member won what, keep an eye on the web as we bring all the updates as soon as possible.
We need photos of "atmosphere", so capture some and send them in, the ones that get published will receive a prize at the next race event. Photos not just of a bike, but a bike racing with a crowd in the background for example or the crowd at race results, so get your fingers clicking and post them on Rad Snaps under Forums or email them to jhockey@iprimus.com.au .
Volunteers are always handy, any help you can give will be greatly appreciated. please email steepdescent@netc.net.au and offer your services, and/or on the day.
