CITY DIRT JAM 2011

Well the event has been done and dusted. We had great weather and a good turnout, with around 30 junior riders taking part in the Come'n'try BMX racing and about a dozen riders for the Dirt Jam, with some crazy tricks thrown down by the BMXers and the MTB riders on the day.

Points in the Dirt Jam for BMX:

36 Points - Dean Manson (Vic)
34 Points - Travis Reddington (Murray Bridge)
16 Points - Jack
13 Points - Wolfman
12 Points - Ernie

Travis took out the $100 cash for best trick nailing a stretched supercan tailwhip.

Points for the Dirt Jamp for MTB:

39 Points - Tom Hall
29 Points - James Patterson
23 Points - Adam Sheeky
14 Points - Dwayne Golding / Alan Hepburn
13 Points - Louis Wundenberg

Tom also took out the $100 cash for best trick naiing a sweet 720 over the first set.

Big thanks to all the riders and guys who helped out on the day, Vern and crew from BMX SA and especially Ben, Nigel and crew from the City Dirt Jump Club who had the jumps looking sweet and running great on the day.

Sunday April 17th 2011, Volatile Visions in association with the Adelaide City Council, SA BMXA and Freestyle BMX are running a free Come and Try BMX event on the junior tracks, and will also feature a Dirt Jam for MTB and BMX on the Advanced Park.

Id love to see a few old faces again and catch up and have some fun. Bring your kids, tell your friends...

DETAILS:

10am Come and Try BMX registration. Open to boys and girls from 4years to 14years of age.

11am - 1pm.
Come and Try BMX racing. Held on the Beginner and Intermediate tracks.
Riders MUST wear long sleeve tops and pants and wear a full face helmet. Helmets will be available for use courtesy of BMXSA, and some BMX bikes will also be available to ride. Children riding on the 'junior' track can ride in open faced helmets if assisted by an adult.
Registration is FREE, but riders must have their parents on site to fill out registration forms and also supervise their children while riding.
The Beginner and Intermediate tracks will be closed to the general public from 11am - 1pm, and be opened again to the general public on conclusion of the Come and Try Event.
Freestyle BMX and BMX Australia will also have a limited number of BMX showbags for registered riders.

12pm Mountainbike and BMX Dirt Jam registration. $15 entry fee, all riders must complete an insurance and waiver form.

1pm - 3pm Mountainbike and BMX Dirt Jam. Riders will have an hour (possibly more) riding in a jam format, The riders themselves will vote at the end of the time period for the best riders on the day in BMX and MTB categories.
The WINNERS will receive a $250 voucher courtesy of Little Black Bike (for BMX) and $200 voucher* from Bicycle Express + some NS Bikes product for MTB. *to spend on any goods or services from their stores. WInners will also receive a killer trophy courtesy of Volatile VIsions.

BEST TRICK COMPETITION.
All registered riders are welcome to ride in a Best Trick competition with $100 cash for MTB and BMX, best trick as voted by a combination of judging and crowd support.

Presentation will be held at conclusion of the event - approximately 3pm.

The public are more than welcome to film and photograph the event, however any media wishing to shoot from inside the bunted area during the official jam will have to complete a registration form along with a $15 fee.

There will be food and drinks catering available on site. NO alcohol will be served.
